Fête de Pois Chiche

3 days of fun. 3 days of laughs. 3 days of music. 3 days of chick peas? Yup, that’s right, we are celebrating the chick pea in Montaren this May in the 12th edition of this fabulous festival of fun. Come eat, come dance, come delight in good times for young and older. May 17, 18, & 19.

A photographic exhibit at the mediathèque in Uzes – 41 le Portalet from May 3-18 during the normal opening hours of the library. If you are as fascinated as I am by the beauty of trees, this is an expo that you will want to check out. You can also enjoy the beautiful bonsaï in the courtyard of the chapelle. This is a Free exhibit.

Braderie des Potiers

The 1st of May every year, the city of Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie holds its annual French labor day poterie flea market. Come early & come prepared to snag some wonderful pieces to add to your collection. There will be food stands around the flea market. Be sure to also pop into the ceramists boutiques throughout the city. Place du Marché, Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie from 9 am till 6 pm.

Flea market in Villeneuve lez Avignon

Every Saturday, year-round, you can enjoy the outdoor flea market of Villeneuve lez Avignon. Market opens at 7 am and closes at 2 pm. Place Charles David, Villeneuve-lez-Avignon

Evening farmers’ market in Avignon

Every Monday from April 1st till October 21st from 5 pm till 7 pm, the city of Avignon bring you over 20 producers selling seasonal produce from the Barhelasse Island, Avignon and greater Avignon area. You’ll find, fresh fruits and vegetables, goat’s cheese, bread, and other local products. Location: Carré d’honneur des Allées de l’tulle, Avignon.

English guided tours of Avignon

A 1 hour 30 minute guided tour of this amazing papal city. The tour departs from the tourist office just outside the boutique and will run every Wednesday and Saturday from 10:30 am starting April 10th. For other times and details, please visit their site

Roman Games  – Les Jeux Romains

Let the games begin. From May 3rd to May 5th, come and participate in a large show celebrating the Roman history of the city of Nimes. The arena and the city will be the sites of the great Roman games for this year’s show. You’ll catch me in costume as I, Eric, and Remi join the crowds for what I imagine will be a fantastic event. The little Train

Pompeii comes to the Musée de la Romanité

If you have never been to Pompeii, this may just inpsire you to venture out to this ill-fated Roman town. But while right here in the Gard, you can step back to the year 79 B.C. to discover the forgotten stories of the town and its inhabitants. A truly fascinating history of the battle of man against mother nature. From April 6 – October 6, 2019

Aux Grès de Montpellier

A Gastronomical walking and tasting tour. With glass in hand, take a walk through the pedestrian streets to secret places around town led by the producers of the Grès de Montpellier wines. Price per adult is 59€, 20€/child. May 12th from 9:45 am till 2 pm.

A race for a good cause. On May 26th you are invited to participate in a feminine race inviting men and women to participate in a non-competitive walk/race in support of the fight against breast cancer. Departure from the Jardin du Peyrou at 11 am.

Printemps des Comédiens

Going strong since 1987, this is the must-see live performance event of the year in Montpellier. On from May 31st till June 30th, the festival’s program is jammed packed with performances that will transport you to other worlds. Among this year’s shows will be Don Juan (Molière) by Frank Castorf. for the full program and bookings

Not for the faint of heart! If you are a fan of extreme sports – skateboarding, roller-blading and BMX, you’ll not want to miss this event taking place in Montpellier from May 29th till June 2nd. Free admission. Place: Lez banks and the Bassin Jacques Coeur.
