When creator and chef-owner of Cook’n with Class, chef Eric Fraudeau started the school back in 2007, his dream was to share his passion and love for French cuisine with visiting tourists. He was the first French chef to jump into offering French cooking classes in Paris taught in English. With the success of the culinary vacation package – Week in Uzès, where chef Eric invites a small group of participants to take part in a week-long culinary experience in Provence, the demand and interest in creating a similar but different culinary experience in Paris, was born.

In the style of Cook’n With Class, this week will be fun, informative, and delicious. We’ll work with the best seasonal produce and enjoy guided tours with expert guides. You will work with recipes that you can easily recreate at home. Some of the lessons you will encounter include bread-making, charcuterie, French dessert, champagne tasting, beer & cheese tasting, and more. You’ll be part of a small group of participants enjoying the best of Paris.

Sunday Afternoon

On Sunday before your week of cooking adventures begins, you will enjoy a guided walking tour of Paris. This tour runs about 4-4.5 hours taking you past historical sites along the Seine. We try to start the tour by 2:30/3 pm. This tour offered by our friends at Sight Seeker’s Delight is listed as being of medium difficulty and will include a pause/bathroom break.

Day 1 of Cooking – Monday

On our first day of class, we will kick off the week with the preparation of a 4-course Parisian-style brasserie menu.

In the afternoon we will leave for a tour and tasting at a Parisian craft brewery followed by a cheese & beer tasting experience.

Day 2 – Tuesday

Food shopping tour of Marché Aligre – one of chef Eric’s favorite Parisian markets, to source the fresh produce we will use to prepare our light lunch menu.

After lunch, we will start preparing bread for the following day. Afternoon charcuterie lesson: Pâté & saucisse.

Dinner at Michelin-starred restaurant, La Table d’Eugène with your fellow participants. Delight in the culinary skills of our good friend chef Geoffroy Maillard.

Day 3 – Wednesday

A hands-on cooking lesson and preparation of our 4-course “Market Menu”.

Afternoon visit to the Laiterie Parisienne for some made-in-Paris cheese, to learn about the cheese-making process and purchase some cheeses.

Early evening apéro with cheese, homemade pâté, & wine tasting at the cave du Roy.

Day 4 – Thursday

“Call me Bubbles” – Champagne tour and lunch at brasserie Boulingrin in Reims. Enjoy a tour and tasting of hand-picked champagne houses with our guide.

Day 5 – Friday

Last day of class – we’re off to Rungis. Rungis is one of Europe’s largest produce markets. This is where the markets of Paris come to shop and we’re off on an early morning tour. We’ll have breakfast & lunch in Rungis.

A short break back in Paris before your afternoon Macaron class with our pastry chef.

We’ll enjoy a final tasting of your macaron creations over a champagne toast to a week well done.
