Number of Participants: 8-10 maximum

*Number of participants refers to the number of individual connections to our zoom session. You can be multiple people in the same kitchen but we ask that you try not to be more than 2 people as much for your own benefit as for your fellow participants & chef-instructor.

Number Recipes: 2-3 recipes
Average Food Cost: About 20 euros and assumes that you have some basic ingredients available in your kitchen (Sugar, Flour, Eggs . . .)

Who doesn’t love a well-made tart? In our French Desserts – French Tarts class, we’ll cover a variety of French tarts and pastry dough recipes used to create them. Hands-on and in your home kitchen, follow along with our pastry chef as they guide you through classic (and modern), French tart recipes such as the Tarte Tatin, Tarte au Citron, Tarte aux fruits rouge, and more. We’ll teach you how to make delicious fillings including pastry creams & almond creams using what’s fresh and seasonal. allow us to take you (back or for the first time), to the pâtisseries of Paris for a virtual voyage to a local café. This class is offered punctually on specific dates so be sure to check the calendar on our Cook’n With Class Uzès website to see when we’ll be hosting the next class. Classes are always listed in CET (Central European Time). If you’re not sure of the time in your time zone, click here.

Don’t see a date that works for you? You can send us an email to suggest another date. If we are available we will propose the date and should we have enough participants, we will run the class. You may also wish to gather your friends and family for a private class customized for you. Please note that we need to give participants enough time to prepare for shopping for the class.

Note: We need a minimum of 4 participants to run these classes. Some themes are being offered at the same time. Whichever class has the necessary number of participants, will be held. Thank you for your understanding.

TARTE AU CITRON MERINGUÉ & TARTE AUX FRAISES

French Tarts

We’ll use the pâte sucrée to prepare these two delicious, fresh French tarts. The class tarte au citron can be prepared with or without the optional meringue. Our strawberry basil tart is a surprising flavor combination that is fresh and flavorful.

 

Recipes: Tart Dough – Pâte Sucrée, Lemon Cream filling, Italian Meringue (optional), Almond Financier Batter

Tools needed: 
Mixing bowls, Pots, tart rings (9 cm or 3.5 inches), Chef’s knife, paring knife, Microplane zester or fine mesh strainer, 2-3 piping bags, Parchment paper & Baking Sheet, Rubber spatula, Rolling pin, Offset spatula, Stand-up mixer (handheld possible but not ideal), Whisk, Immersion blender, Cling film, Fork, Candy Thermometer, Kitchen scale
